AFTERCARE FOR REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology can:                                                        

  • Reduce feelings of stress and anxiety                           

  • Calm and soothe the mind                                            

  • Give a sense of wellbeing

  • Balance your mood

  • Improve blood and lymph circulation                             

  • Encourage the elimination of toxins                                

  • Rebalance the body’s systems to work efficiently


Following your treatment you should:

  • Rest as much as possible

  • Avoid strenuous activity

  • Take care when driving and operating machinery

  • Avoid caffeine, alcohol and smoking

  • Drink plenty of water


The following are all possible reactions following treatment:

Feeling tired                              Spot breakouts
Feeling energised                     Altered sleep patterns
Feeling emotional                      Heavier menstrual flow
Feeling uplifted                         Non-specific aches and pains
Increase in urination and bowel movements

Occasionally you may experience symptoms or emotions that are unwanted. This is known as a ‘healing response’ and is temporary. The symptoms should last no longer than 24-48 hours. Such symptoms may include headache, nausea, lethargy and feeling over-emotional. However, anything that is prolonged or severe will not be caused by Reflexology and you should consult your GP as you normally would.
