FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHO CAN HAVE A TREATMENT?
Many people can benefit from complementary therapy but please do check the important information against your chosen treatment as certain medical conditions do restrict or prevent treatment.
My treatments are available to ladies.
Male clients are welcome to book providing a female household member is also having a treatment at the same booking, as a double booking.
For personal security I do not take individual bookings from men who are unknown to me.
For clients under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign their consent and remain in the same room for the duration of the treatment.
DO I NEED TO PROVIDE ANYTHING?
I bring everything I need with me. I just need access to a sink to wash my hands.
WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO DO THE TREATMENT?
A downstairs space where there is space for my equipment.
My Reflexology chair is 68cm wide and 170cm long when reclined. I would then need space for my stool at the foot end.
My massage table is 71cm wide and 205cm long. I would need access all around this.
I ask that the area is smoke free and for you to get the most from your treatment ideally quiet and free from distractions. For hygiene purposes any pets should be out of the vicinity of the treatment and kept away from my equipment.
HOW DO I BOOK?
You can contact me by telephone, text, email or Facebook messenger to book a treatment. If you choose to contact me by telephone please be aware that due to being mobile I may not always be available to take calls or have immediate access to my booking diary. It would be helpful, in the first instance, to send a text, Facebook message or leave a voicemail informing me of your name, required treatment, date, time and your location. From there we can arrange a mutually agreeable time to speak to discuss your requirements.
DO YOU OFFER GIFT VOUCHERS?
Gift vouchers are available to purchase up to any value. They are valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Purchase at your appointment or contact me to arrange payment via BACS transfer and postal delivery.
Loyalty card valid on redemption of the gift voucher.
ARE THERE ANY WEIGHT LIMITATIONS?
My Reflexology chair is tested to 140kg (approx 22 stones).
The chair I use for Indian Head is tested to 110kg (approx 17.3 stones). Clients exceeding this are welcome to use their own chair for the treatment.
The working weight for my massage table is 500lbs (distributed evenly). This includes the pressure applied by me during the treatment.
WHAT HAPPENS AT AN APPOINTMENT?
After arrival at your home I will ask you to begin completing the consultation forms while I prepare the treatment area and set up my equipment. After that I will do your consultation which involves me asking some lifestyle and health questions and you finally signing the consultation form.
If you are having an Aromatherapy massage I will then blend your oils.
Your treatment will then take place for the duration stated.
Afterwards I will give you some aftercare advice and clear away.
HOW DO I KNOW IF A TREATMENT IS SAFE FOR ME?
Rest assured - you're in great hands. However, certain conditions may prevent or restrict a treatment. Consent from a GP or consultant may be required for some conditions. Please check the Important Information for your chosen treatment and please contact me if you have any further questions.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
You should be wearing something comfortable for you. Loose fitting clothing and robes are usually best. You may want to have your slippers close by for after the treatment.
For Indian Head Massage:
If you choose the clothed treatment you will be fully dressed. If you choose oil then you will need to remove your top and you will be covered with a towel.
For Swedish and Aromatherapy Massage:
You will need to undress according to the area to be treated. Underwear must be worn at all times. Your modesty will be protected at all times with towels and blankets.
For Foot Reflexology:
I need access to the feet and up to the knees so shorts or loose fitting trousers that can be rolled up are ideal.
I AM PREGNANT, CAN I HAVE ANY TREATMENTS?
Indian Head Massage is available from 15 weeks to ladies with a healthy, low risk pregnancy. Please read the important safety information.
